On November 27, the KPF Principal presented a keynote highlighting the firm’s award-winning hotels and resorts at the Vienna forum.
In his presentation, Jamie focused on different components of four hospitality projects that showcase the firm’s range of expertise in the industry. Opened in Dubai this year, Atlantis The Royal considers the intense climate when integrating shading into its design. At the Park Hyatt Suzhou, the landscaping took inspiration from the renowned Suzhou Gardens, as did the detailing of the ornamental screen on the building’s façade. The Langham and Andaz Xintiandi hotels in Shanghai add to their neighborhood through forms that convey a fashionable sensibility that extends and enhances the character of the historic district. Jamie also discussed a study KPF conducted for a hotel in London’s Covent Garden, which retains six period buildings and their historic façades, reconfigured to accommodate 80 hotel rooms, 2 restaurants, and a spa.
The 196+ Forum Vienna focused on hospitality, investment, and innovation, organized in collaboration with the Vienna Tourist Board and Museum Booster. The organization has been hosting the preeminent gatherings of the hospitality investment community for the past 20 years. Learn more here.
