Hudson Yards Wins Excellence in Mixed-Use Development in ULI New York Awards

The KPF development transformed a previously desolate and under-utilized site into a vibrant new neighborhood with cutting-edge, energy efficient office space.

Completed in 2019, the first phase of the Hudson Yards development is a distinctive community characterized by world-leading sustainability, affordable housing, and diverse architectural styles. Its streets are lined with shops, restaurants, galleries, arts and culture. A dynamic public square and gardens unifies the residential, hospitality, commercial and retail structures and links to the Hudson River waterfront, the exciting High Line district and Hudson Boulevard Park. Requiring both design excellence and complex project planning and engineering, this first phase of the two part, 28-acre neighborhood is built on a platform above the Long Island Rail Road rail yard at the point where 30 rail tracks converge into four before entering Penn Station.

30 Hudson Yards was named a finalist in Excellence in Office Development category. The tallest tower of the development and the third tallest office building in New York City, 30 Hudson Yards features river-to-river panoramic views, outdoor terraces, a triple-height lobby, and direct access to the No. 7 subway line. 30 Hudson Yards is home to the highest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, Edge, and serves as the headquarters for global media and entertainment company Warner Media, as well as its subsidiaries, HBO, CNN, and Warner Brothers. The Class-A office tower features large, efficient floor plans, cutting-edge communications systems for tenants and unparalleled amenities for workers.
