As professional spaces are reimagined in response to a rapidly changing global workplace culture, highly flexible, amenity-rich buildings, including the KPF-designed development in Shanghai, are meeting new demands.
Huamu Lot 10, a mixed-use development comprising three office towers and a nearby museum surrounding a central grand plaza, creates a vibrant and culturally active district around the landmark towers. The project is one of a handful highlighted by the outlet that show an “emphasis on flexibility and adaptability,” says Eric Baldwin for Architizer. “As companies navigate the complexities of remote and in-person work, the demand for versatile spaces that can easily be reconfigured has never been higher.”
Water features, winding paths, and verdant planting bring nature into the development and create a backdrop for public art features. Rooftop terraces and gardens provide additional outdoor space for tenants, responding to the increased need for green amenities during the workday. The striking horizontal elements of the office towers extend to shade common areas at the lower levels, and in the middle of the towers connect visually to form a Sky Gallery.
