In collaboration with the Hong Kong Design Centre, KPF presented the CityProg Design Explorer Programme to elementary school students, sharing insight into how an architecture firm functions.
The visit included eight students, ages nine to 11, from a local elementary school in the city. Employees of KPF’s Hong Kong office gave the students a tour of the space, a lesson containing a brief history of architecture and the firm’s origins, and an overview of the systems and materials needed to keep the firm running smoothly. The presentation included a look at KPF projects in Hong Kong, including the International Commerce Centre and Victoria Dockside, two mixed-use developments overlooking Victoria Harbor. The visit concluded with a competition to see who could build the tallest structure from 20 sheets of paper.
BODW CityProg is a citywide creative business and community activation programme initiated in 2018 by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC). It aims to foster exchange and collaborations among creative and design units, businesses and community organisations.
