Four KPF Projects Take Home 2021 AMP Awards

One Vanderbilt won Best of the Best in the American MasterPrize Awards, while Suzhou IFS, Park Hyatt Suzhou, and Heron were all honored in their respective categories.

In addition to One Vanderbilt’s Best of the Best win in the High-Rise Building category, the supertall tower was recently recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies with an Engineering Excellence Award. Read more about both wins here.

The 450-meter tall Suzhou IFS was also honored in the High-Rise Building category. The tower marks the center of the city’s modern expansion; its base relates to the surrounding neighborhood, allowing the tower to transition from the nearby lake before gesturing towards the sky.

Also in Suzhou, the Park Hyatt Suzhou was recognized in the Hospitality Architecture category. Taking inspiration from the Suzhou Gardens, the project connects guests to natural surroundings through a stepped form with exceptional views over the lake and the inclusion of interior gardens.

Rounding out KPF’s honors in this year’s AMP Awards was Heron in the Residential Architecture – Multi Unit category. Serving as an entry point to the Tampa Riverwalk and the Water Street neighborhood, Heron is comprised of two sibling towers connected through a mixed-use podium. The project’s design provides an uplifting environment for residents and is certified LEED Gold.

The Architecture MasterPrize was created by the Farmani Group, an organization focused on the curation of international art and architecture, in order to further the appreciation of global architecture. View all of the 2021 AMP winners here.
