The KPF Director participated in two events on March 7 and 8, focused on networking and honoring the contributions of women architects in the local community.
On March 7, AIA Hong Kong hosted WO-MEN Connect, an event sponsored by AECOM, created to foster connection in the design and construction industry. In addition to networking, three speakers – Florence, Yimei Chan, Director of LOD, and Shirley Chen, Vice President at AECOM – shared their career journeys and discussed the importance of mentorship. On March 8, the event hosted by AIA Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and RIBA Hong Kong Chapter, aimed to bring together the Hong Kong architectural community to showcase excellence in design and honor the contribution of women architects. 38 architects, including KPF’s Florence Chan, were invited to share their pick for a project in Hong Kong. Florence, who served as the President of AIA Hong Kong in 2022, discussed The Bank of China Tower, designed by I. M. Pei. Also at the event, Adeline Chan, Researcher in AI Application in Architectural Design at the University of Hong Kong, presented a talk titled “Disruptive Innovation: Generative Workflow.” The event took place from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the HKIA premises at 19/F One Hysan Avenue in Causeway Bay.
