Collegiate School Construction Topped Out on Upper West Side

Construction recently topped out for the new Collegiate School building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

The oldest school of its kind in the US – established in 1628 – Collegiate is a K-12 boys-only, private school located in New York City’s Upper West Side. The school’s upcoming move to its new home at West 61st Street between West End Avenue and Riverside Boulevard will mark the institution’s first move since 1892, from its current location alongside the West End Collegiate Church.

The new, 180,000-square-foot building, currently set to be completed in 2018, will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, gymnasium, practice gym, auditorium, black box theater, and cafeteria. The Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools will all have their own common, flexible learning environments customized to their age group’s learning needs.

The KPF team includes Jill Lerner, Doug Hocking, Andrew Klare, Vicky Dushku, Amanda Prins, and Kesler Flores.
