The guide recently announced its 2024 Star Awards, where the KPF-designed residences and resort earned the Five-Star accolade, a feat rare within the first year of opening.
Now in its 66th year, Forbes Travel Guide is the only global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, and spas, which developed the concept of the Five-Star rating in 1958. This year, Dubai logged more new Five-Star hotels than any other location worldwide, including the “architectural feat” designed by KPF, according to the announcement. Atlantis The Royal was named among the 50 best hotels in the world and includes over a dozen restaurants and bars and 90 swimming pools, all within a skyline-defining structure.
“A Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel award is a rare achievement. It’s earned only by the very best hotels in the world whose staff delivers a consistently high level of genuine service that makes everyone feel welcomed,” said Amanda Frasier, President of Ratings for Forbes Travel Guide upon the announcement. “It is, however, exceedingly rare to operate at this level within the first year of opening a brand-new property and achieve such recognition. Atlantis The Royal’s neighbor, Atlantis, The Palm, earned a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star award for the third consecutive year. The ratings are based on inspectors who pose incognito as everyday guests, where they test over 900 standards that emphasize exceptional service, experience, and value.
