Andy Christoforou and Sharel Liu Discuss Rendering and Artificial Intelligence Tools

On June 5, the Senior Applied Technology Specialist and the Design Technology Intern joined the New York City Revit Users Group to compare different rendering options as tools to enhance visualization, investigating the trade-off between quality and efficiency.

Noting the crucial role that visual communication plays in architecture and design, teams must make decisions that best serve the scale of the firm and the needs of individual projects.

Andy and Sharel shared their expertise on the various rendering engines and AI workflows available to Revit and Rhino users, highlighting the capabilities and limitations of Enscape, Twinmotion, D5, AI, and Lumion. Comparing an image of KPF’s SOHO Gubei tower in Shanghai to its rendered counterpart, Andy highlighted the degree of realism that can be achieved using these tools.

This event, organized by the NYC Revit Users Group, was held at Interface New York Showroom at 6 pm. A public organization, the NYC Revit Users Group gives local Revit users the platform to discuss BIM implementation across the AEC industry.
