Eunsook Choi AIA LEED AP
Eunsook Choi is an architectural designer with a diversity of experience, including residential, office, and institutional projects, throughout Europe, the United States and Asia. Since joining the firm in 1996, she has worked on both the design and management aspects of many high profile projects and competition winning designs.
In Korea, Eunsook was thoroughly involved in KPF’s large-scale master plan for New Songdo City, outside of Incheon. She was an integral member of the design team for two of the project’s tall residential towers, Harborview and First World Towers. Together the two towers provide 3,750 apartments and ample, retail, residential amenities, and public open spaces. She was also the Senior Designer for Canal Walk, a smaller scale, mixed-use, residential project that focuses on the pedestrian and providing public space. Canal Walk was awarded the Best Design of the Year from the Korean Architects Association in 2010.
Also in Korea, Eunsook worked on the Ilsan Cultural Center, which houses an opera house, concert hall, experimental theater, museum and library. The project’s overall composition divides a large site into human scale blocks that emphasize the center’s urban location within the city. She was also involved in KPF’s Samsung Seocho project, which was completed in 2008. Fully integrated into its surrounding urban context, the landscape of the project features walkways that unify public areas and facilitate pedestrian movement throughout the site.
Additionally, Eunsook is currently involved in Hangzhou Qingchun Plaza in China and Qiantan Center in Shanghai. Eunsook’s North American and European work includes the AIG Headquarters in London, Thames Court in London, and the expansion and modernization of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She was also involved in the concept design phases of Lotte World Tower in Seoul.
