Since joining KPF in 1997, Leif has worked on a variety of complex, high-profile projects in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. His experience encompasses a broad range of project types, including master plan developments, transportation, education, commercial, and residential work, with a particular focus on creative design, project execution, design team leadership, client management, and consultant co-ordination.

Currently, Leif is managing the Bermondsey Project for the international property group Grosvenor. Renovating and adding to a patchwork of former industrial buildings, the project will provide offices, residential units, retail spaces, community facilities, and a new secondary school near to central London. He also remains involved with Capco’s Empress Place and Earl’s Court masterplan projects, having led the planning submission for the reserved matters application granted in April 2013. At over 213,000m² and 1,200 new homes this is one of the most significant successful planning applications in London.

Leif also led the design, management, consultation, presentation, and delivery of the planning submission for One Nine Elms, a 205m tall, 106,277m² mixed-use residential complex in the heart of Vauxhall’s emerging cluster of tall buildings, which was granted Detailed Planning Consent in October 2012. Previously, he played a similar role for the headquarters building for the International Bank of Qatar in Doha. He was also responsible for the successful delivery of the cladding and internal glazing packages for the Heron Tower project in the City of London, which won the BCO Commercial Workplace Award in 2012.

Additional achievements include the successful delivery of the Ruth Deech building at St Anne’s College, University of Oxford. The new building, which provides teaching spaces and student accommodation at the heart of the campus, won multiple awards, including the 2007 AIA UK Chapter Excellence in Design Commendation, the 2006 CIAT Open Award for Technical Excellence and the 2006 Oxford Preservation Trust Environmental Awards. Leif’s Prince’s Gardens project for Imperial College, London was also recognised with the 2011 Civic Trust Award.
