One & Five Bank Street

Bounded by water on two sides, One Bank Street marks the entrance to the Canary Wharf Estate and provides flexible, state-of-the-art commercial facilities. The dramatic sweep of the façade unifies the horizontality of the podium trading floors with verticality of the slender office floors above.

The 27-storey scheme features two lobbies, three dedicated trading floors and ground level retail. The sweep of the west-facing façade creates two, five-story atria overlooking a roof terrace with views back to the City of London.

With the surrounding area transforming into a residential neighbourhood, the design for One Bank Street seizes on the opportunity to revitalise this corner of the district. By cantilevering the trading floors, continuous, almost column-free circulation is enabled at the ground plane, and a publicly accessible decked promenade has been created along the West India South Dock providing immediate access to the water’s edge. Planting and sculptural landscaping further animate the public realm, as well as providing security.

Through implementing specific sustainability and energy efficiency measures throughout the building the project has achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating.
