The milestone was celebrated last month with a small ceremony attended by the local project team.
KPF is pleased to share that Jakarta MPP has topped out. Prominently located in one of the fastest growing CBDs in the world, the building serves as a symbol of the region’s remarkable evolution through its sculptural aesthetic and provides premium office space with highly functional interior planning.
The form of Jakarta MPP expresses energy and movement to create a dynamic focal point for the bustling commercial district of Indonesia’s capital city. Its fluid geometry is carried from the uniquely curved façade at the southeast corner, which acts a gesture of welcome into the site and building, up through the tower to its crown, which is illuminated at night, establishing a strong presence on Jakarta’s skyline. The project’s material palette, cool colors, and a setback terrace at the 33rd floor all assist the project in establishing harmony with the site’s context.
Jakarta MPP’s acute functionality and limited environmental impact set the benchmark for future growth in the region. Long span floorplates provide column-free depths of 18 meters, increasing layout flexibility and ensuring the project attracts a variety of tenants. The site is also accessible to many forms of transit, including pedestrian walkways and bicycle paths, and is located within 200 meters of an important future MRT stop. The project is expected to achieve a BCA Green Mark Platinum rating, the association’s highest accreditation.
The building reaches this milestone on the heels of several other significant moments for KPF’s other work in Jakarta. Earlier this month, Autograph Tower, set to be the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere and Jakarta’s first supertall building, topped out. And, the recently completed Sequis Tower, one of Indonesia’s first LEED Platinum buildings, received two honors from the International Region of the American Institute of Architects – the first, a Design Award for its human-focused design; the second, a Sustainability Award for its strong environmental performance.
