During his almost two decades of experience with KPF, Jinsuk has led the design of some of the firm’s most recognizable and ambitious projects, tailoring each design to its respective site while always considering how private projects can encompass public spaces to improve the lives of residents.

Across large-scale projects, Jinsuk celebrates the opportunity to design for beauty, as well as function. His attention to craft, material, and texture is apparent throughout his work. Among these projects, 23-39 Blue Pool Road stands out for its unique materials and fabrication. The townhouses feature handcrafted bronze privacy screens and distinctive door details.

In his abundant experience designing residential and mixed-use projects, Jinsuk always looks for ways to innovate the residential experience. To generate solutions that create both public and private spaces, Jinsuk uses extensive diagrams to map out programs and circulation of the site and design. One Nine Elms encompasses a high-end hotel as well as market-rate and low-income residential units. The project’s lobbies allow various points of entry and all lead to an outdoor space linked to the riverside that is open to the public, which promotes natural interactions between residents of the complex and visitors to the neighborhood.

Jinsuk’s site-specific designs also span office and retail programming, seen in Shanghai’s Embankment Square. The eight office towers, which range in height from 40 to 100 meters, enable flexible interiors fit for diverse tenants, ranging from large headquarters to smaller offices.

Jinsuk enjoys sharing his learnings in the architecture industry in academic settings. He has lectured at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, the New York Institute of Technology, and Yonsei University in Seoul. He also participates in Symposiums hosted by the New York AIA.
