One Vanderbilt and Edge Win NYCxDESIGN Awards

The two KPF-designed Manhattan projects were awarded across three categories, including Commercial Lobby/Amenity Space, Outdoor Space, and NYC’s Shining Moment.

One Vanderbilt is Midtown’s tallest office building, reaching 1,400 feet. Blending public enterprise and the private realm, the mixed-use tower offers cutting-edge office space and, located next to Grand Central Terminal, forms a new doorstep to the city with a 14,000 square-foot pedestrian plaza at its base. The project won the Commercial Lobby/Amenity Space category, honored for lobby’s bronze “art wall” installation and the building’s direct connection to the Terminal.

Edge, the 7,500-square-foot outdoor observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards, cantilevers 80 feet from the building’s 100th floor. As the highest of its type in the western hemisphere, Edge offers 360-degree views of the city with angled, mullion-free glass panels surrounding the deck. Featuring a 225-square-foot glass floor, allowing visitors to look below onto Manhattan’s busy streets, Edge won in the Outdoor Space category. The project, designed by KPF with interiors by Rockwell Group, also won NYC’s Shining Moment category.
