Peking University School of Transnational Law and Rosewood Bangkok Win AIA Hong Kong Design Awards

The projects earned the Honor Award for Architecture and the Merit Award for Architecture, respectively.

The Peking University School of Transnational Law supports the campus’ mixed academic program and serves as a central gathering place that unites a variety of spaces. By implementing white terracotta, colored terracotta, and dark brick, the north façade mirrors the character of the surrounding campus. The south façade reinterprets the traditional Chinese design language through the use of grey slate and brick. The material choices and form throughout the project communicate the school’s identity, driven by local tradition, while participating in global progress.

Rosewood Bangkok, located in Bangkok’s prime central business district, represents a strong Thai identity. Inspired in form by the “wai,” a Thai hand gesture of welcome, Rosewood Bangkok draws tropical Thai greenery into the site and provides access to the Ploenchit Skytrain Station, which connects visitors to the city. Rosewood Bangkok is home to luxurious amenities, including restaurants, bars, a spa, swimming pool, fitness center, and a top-floor event venue with panoramic city views.
