Education

Master of Arts,

Bachelor of Arts,
American University of Beirut

Since joining KPF in 1999, Mustafa has designed many internationally significant projects, including super-tall towers, airport terminals, and urban districts. Managing multi-disciplinary teams across KPF’s global offices and collaborating with industry-leading consultants, he endeavours to achieve a high level of creativity and quality on all projects.

Mustafa’s portfolio features developments that address complex urban and transportation challenges, including the KLCC Arts and Cultural Hub, which accommodates a new MTR station and anticipates future intensification of the neighbourhood as the CBD matures.

His work frequently blurs the boundaries between inside and out, and features ‘urban rooms’ and interiors on a monumental scale, for example, at Zayed International Airport Terminal A where an innovative structural solution has enabled a dramatic, largely column-free departure hall.

Leading the adoption of new technologies at KPF, Mustafa has championed the use of AR, VR, and Computational Design to improve performance and build successful collaborations. For the Ziraat Bank Headquarters, he pioneered using computational design to resolve complex geometries for enhanced buildability.

Within KPF, Mustafa encourages debate and dialogue around the design process. Externally, he is a frequent speaker for organisations and conferences including Advanced Building Skins, CTBUH, MIPIM, and the MSc in Sustainable Urban Development, run in partnership by The Prince’s Foundation and the University of Oxford. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
