Florence Chan AIA LEED AP

A Director at KPF, Florence joined our New York office in 2007, before permanently relocating to our Hong Kong office in 2008. Since then she has been involved in a series of mixed-use projects, with special interest on super tall buildings in mainland China. She plays an essential role in many of KPF’s projects, acting as liaison between clients, consultants in Asia, and the design teams in New York and London.

Florence’s involvement in a number of KPF’s leading projects has helped her to develop technical expertise in highly complex and large-scale projects. She played a key role in the design of Hysan Place in Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay, the first LEED Platinum certified mixed use tower in Hong Kong. The project was recognized with several awards, including a MIPIM Asia Gold Award in the Mixed-Use Buildings Category in 2012 and the ULI Global Awards for Excellence 2013.

In China, Florence has been an integral member of several design teams. Her expertise was essential to the design of the Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, which will be one of the tallest towers in China upon completion. Also notable is her involvement in the CTF Guangzhou, a 530-meter tower that houses office, hotel, serviced apartments and a retail program.

Most recently, Florence has been involved in the OCT Tower, a 300-meter office tower and the Ping An South Tower, an office-hotel mixed use project, both in Shenzhen.

Florence is a registered architect in New York State, a NCARB certificate holder, and a LEED Accredited Professional. She frequently serves as guest lecturer and reviewer at various architectural schools in Hong Kong. Recently, she participated in the China Green Building Conference in Beijing (2015), the Outokumpu Experience in Berlin (2015), and the Conference on Stainless Steel Application in Wuxi (2015).
