Brian Chung

A Director at KPF, Brian has more than 12 years of professional architectural design experience. Since joining KPF in 2003, he has worked on a variety of project types and has played an essential role in developing our practice in Asia.

In China, Brian is Senior Designer for China Resources Headquarters in Shenzhen, which is currently under construction. The tower is 400 meters tall and is strategically positioned to overlook Shenzhen Bay. He was also Senior Designer for Jing An Kerry Centre in Shanghai, an award-winning project that transformed the pedestrian experience of the city.

Brian’s design talents lend themselves to larger scale urban designs, having worked on two important master plan projects at KPF. As Senior Designer, he played an integral role in the design of Meixi Lake, an 82 million SF development in Changsha, China. He also worked on the master plan for New Songdo City in Incheon, South Korea, a project that has revolutionized urban design and the idea of the city.

A proficient designer, Brian has also worked on several of KPF’s tall tower projects. He was involved in the Northeast Asia Trade Tower (NEATT) in New Songdo City, which tops off at 308 meters and was completed in 2011.

Currently, Brian is involved in the design of SOHO Gubei in Shanghai, developing a design that is classic in its appeal to the future as it satisfies the tastes of today. He also leads the design of the Dongdaegu Mixed Use Transportation Hub in Daegu, Korea, which totals 1.8 million SF and includes a department store, bus terminal, theme park, cinema, restaurant, and links to high speed rail and other public transits.

Having earned his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, he was the recipient of the Charles Goodwin Sands Medal, an honor awarded to the most commendable architectural thesis.
