The 213-room Mandarin Oriental, Macau, occupies the Signature Tower of One Central, an urban resort development overlooking Nam Van Lake and Macau Bay. The tapering form of the hotel tower is a distinguished addition to the eclectic mix of vernacular housing, colonial-era plazas and casinos which make up Macau’s urban character.

At the arrival courtyard, a cascade of water streams down from the spa’s infinity pool, filling the air with the sound of rushing water. Water is the dominant influence on the design of the Signature Tower and all of One Central. From the fluid formal gestures, to the articulation of every façade, water is evoked both visually and formally. The tower of the hotel is clad in rippled reflective glass, which is designed to scatter and reflect light in a kaleidoscopic fashion.

The ripples of the façade produce subtle variations in floorplans, creating bay-windows in guest rooms, emphasizing views and light. The tower’s protruding windows combine with its outwardly tapered form to make the views of Nam Van Lake and Macau Bay even more spectacular.

In addition to guestrooms the hotel features a restaurant, a waterfront bar, and a spa. The hotel is directly connected to a large podium housing the latest retail and entertainment offerings.
