Green Building Council Sponsorship

KPF is a Sponsor of the UGC (New York), UKGBC (United Kingdom) and HKGBC (Hong Kong), all part of the World Green Building Council network, an international organization dedicated to influencing the green building marketplace and facilitating the global transformation of the building industry towards sustainability.

Construction Company Training Program

This year-long externship has been a long-time collaboration between KPF and various construction companies, including Taisei of Japan, to share best practices, innovations and designs. Each company nominates an architect to learn and acquire advanced technical knowledge, skills and expertise in project management, planning and design procedures, from schematic design phase to design development phase. As host, KPF works closely with its architects to provide a work-study environment, which highlights KPF’s Sustainability Program as it relates to each design phase.

KPF Traveling Fellowship

Each year KPF presents three $10,000 awards to students who are in their penultimate year at one of KPF’s design school partners. Winners are selected from portfolio reviews by outside jurors, based on evidence of their artistic vision and commitment to the broad social aims of architectural design. The goal of the award is to allow students to broaden their education through a summer of travel before their final year at school. Fellows are required to submit to KPF, within two months of completion of their travel, a report including the student’s reason for travel, the places visited, and the lessons learned.

KPF participates in New York’s ACE Mentoring Program, a not-for-profit organization that helps prepare high school students for careers in design and construction. The fastest-growing mentoring program in the building industry, ACE operates in 30 states and 80 cities across the nation.

KPF/AF Student Travel Award

The Student Travel Award is sponsored by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and organized by The Architecture Foundation (AF) a non-profit organization. The aim of the award is not only to support exceptional current architecture students, but also to encourage new creative minds in the field of architecture. The award, which has been awarded annually for six years, is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at architecture schools in the UK.
