Principals

Our people are our most valued resource. We have a
staff of over 350 working in offices in New York and London. Experience is
balanced with youth. We are multicultural and multilingual. Our people come from
43 countries, speaking over 39 languages. We believe that the different
backgrounds of our staff help to broaden our vision. The firm is organized around the concept of teams rather than departments. There are no "technical" or "working drawing" departments in the firm. A single integrated team works on the project through all phases until completion of construction. Team members sit together in open plan spaces. The firm structure is informal. The office has no closed doors. We are idea led. The best ideas are what move us forward. These ideas can be generated by anyone on the team and thereafter adopted and developed. We are committed to hiring and fostering talent. We have a policy of promoting younger people from within the office to more senior positions. KPF has, over the last two years, named ten new principals in order to ensure the firm’s strong foundation of design and management and lead the company into the new millennium. In addition, the firm takes seriously its responsibility of training young architects. Senior staff members train juniors within the context of the team. The office also has an established student internship program whereby students work at KPF during their time at universities. Internship energizes the firm. Many of these students later continue on to become full-time members of the staff.
