Set within the City cluster on a prominent site at the junction of Bishopsgate & Camomile Street, the building will provide the highly flexible work space demanded by the latest generation of City occupiers.  Responding to both the technical and social demands of the modern workplace, the building is organised around a series of office "villages". At the heart of each is a triple height atrium.

Unlike the earlier generation of tall City buildings, the Heron Tower will be a transparent and articulate structure. To the south, a slender lift core is animated by movement of glazed lift cars, two of which provide access to the new public restaurant at roof level.

The current site, a busy traffic island with narrow pavements, is inhospitable to pedestrians. The proposed building will offer significant improvements through the pedestrianisation of the section of Houndsditch to the north of the site. This space, animated by planting and cafés, will enhance the setting of the Grade II listed St. Botolph's Church opposite. An arcade along Bishopsgate provides a generous footpath to this busy street.
